Nutritious, adequate meals are a critical part of any child’s success in school, but “food” doesn’t automatically come to mind as many begin preparation for the upcoming school year and making sure kids have everything they need. However, having breakfast, lunch, and dinner are just as important as filling a student’s backpack with pencils, erasers, or spiral notebooks. Each month, the Stark County Hunger Task Force provides a free, 3-5 day supply of groceries, along with compassion and a dash of hope, to 27,000+ of our struggling neighbors.
Will you help us fill their backpacks, lunchboxes, and kitchen cupboards with the food they need to succeed?
From August 7th-9th during Ohio’s Tax Free Weekend, you might find yourself at Belden Village Mall, school shopping or otherwise. While you’re out saving money and scoring tax-free deals, YOU can also make a difference in the lives of the 1 in 4 Stark County children who will go to school hungry this year.
